I am not famous for my green thumb, in fact, I would say my name is synonymous with having a black thumb! But, our kindergarteners, on the other hand, are expert gardeners! Our From Seed to Plant unit has been an incredible learning experience:) Check out Emery fulfilling his watering duties!
Now is a great time to start thinking about summer reading:) Here are some of my favorite picks from this month’s Scholastic Book Orders! If you want to order, scroll down on our blog and the link is on the right! Our class code is GVCCF.

I really do love Pete the Cat, and so do our kiddos. This will definitely be a purchase for our classroom library. Check it out in the April Firefly Book Order!
Mo Willems is another favorite author by the children! In the April Firefly Catalog, there are a couple of different choices that are perfect for reading together or reading independently!
I’m also excited about 2 of the non-fiction book sets in the April Firefly Order. There is an Earth and Space Science Pack that has 4 different books included. The books cover high-interest topics like space, the water cycle, weather, and recycling! There is another pack of non-fiction books that talk about different life cycles. Both sets are at appropriate reading levels for independent reading.

If you are looking for early readers and decodable books, the April Seesaw Order has Set 1 of the BOB Books Beginning Readers. These are awesome for independent reading practice and sight words!

There a TON of incredible Read Alouds, as well:) Here are a few of my favorites!

I am always happy to help you in selecting books to read to your child and books that your child should be reading to you:) Let me know! Happy Reading!
Today, I had planned to model and ask the children to write about April Weather Changes…however, I scratched that idea when snow became a part of the forecast! Here’s hoping this coming week is actually spring:) Have a great weekend!
